3 Benefits of Blinds Without Cords
You may have noticed corded blinds have been replaced with cordless blinds especially when it comes to custom high-quality brands. In 2018, the Window Covering Manufacturers Association (WCMA) and many manufacturers decided on safer standards for window coverings, and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission followed suit in June 2024 requiring the elimination of free-hanging cords. Not only is this practice safer for kids and pets, but the style also looks cleaner and is easy to use no more tangled cords!

Blinds Without Cords Are Pet and Child Safe
The cords on blinds can pose a strangulation risk to pets and children. Removing the cord eliminates that risk. This is true for any room in the home. Kids may pick up a dangling cord or get caught up in them because they're naturally curious. Pets and collars also can easily get caught in cords, making it difficult for them to untangle themselves.

Motorization allows you to maneuver the slats from anywhere in the home for light control and privacy. Hunter Douglas PowerView® Automation allows for the easy raising and lowering of blinds with the wall-mounted or handheld Pebble® remote, the PowerVIew® app on your smart device, or with voice command when partnering the PowerView® Gateway with your smart home assistant like Amazon Alexa or Apple’s Siri.
You can also select a wand to adjust the angle of your slats.
The Push-up/Pull-down LiteRise® system allows you to gently push up on the bottom to raise them and gently pull down to lower them. You can also select the SimpleLift™ System, which has a button that you press to raise and lower the blinds.
